Chloé Soho
Dec. 21History and salvage through materiality were the informing design principles for Chloe’s Soho location. The lumber was reclaimed from a 19th century textile mill in Pennsylvania. Support beams and joists used as the architectural structure for this mill were hand shaped by Antoine and Benji in their Brooklyn studio. Rather than forcing the wood into forms of their choice, the pair let the 150 year old lumber guide them. A clean, sculptural approach to form juxtaposes against the more ornate interior architecture.
